Technical Deployment Specialist Job Summary:

Responsible for timely delivery, setup, installation, transfer, and storage of all equipment necessary for implementation of new technology and system upgrades for the stores, corporate office, and distribution centers.  Provide secondary technical support to end users and primary I.S. support staff in resolution of LAN/WAN and server hardware and software problems.  Analyze user requirements, projected workloads, and departmental processes and procedures, and make recommendations to management regarding new technologies and computer systems or improvements to existing systems and procedures.

Technical Deployment Specialist Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common PC and network related problems, providing second level technical/desktop support to end users, IS staff and external vendors in resolution of pc hardware and software problems. Evaluates, prioritizes, and responds in published timeframes to incoming tickets from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking and other computer related technologies.


  • Review vendor installations to ensure quality and accuracy of work and timely completion of outsourced technology equipment installations.


  • Review fixture plans for accurate equipment placement in the corporate office, new stores and remodels.


  • Setup and install PC related hardware at Harris Teeter corporate office, distribution center, Ruddick and store locations as needed.


  • Track technology assets from purchase through deployment to end of life.


  • Evaluate LAN/WAN and Server hardware and software requirements and capabilities, recommending hardware and software configurations based on factors such as number of departments serviced, reporting formats required, volume of transactions, time and cost constraints, security and access restrictions


Technical Deployment Specialist Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in technology deployment and implementations, including PC installations, or minimum 5 years equivalent education and experience.


  • Three years or more of business experience in retail operations


  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of
  • Standard Microsoft Office Applications word processing software
  • Standard Microsoft Office Applications spreadsheet software
  • Standard Microsoft Office Applications (VISIO) design software
  • Standard Microsoft Office Applications internet software and Standard Microsoft Office Applications (Project) project management software.
