Job Title:  Business Intelligence Developer
Location:  Nashville, TN
Terms:  6 to 12 month contract 

Job Title Job Summary:
Primary Purpose:
Design, develop, maintain, and support complex business intelligence in support of Actuarial, Pricing, Product, Sales, and Marketing departments.  Responsible for leading a Business Intelligence development team to support the analytical needs of the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Responsible for critical analytics sources and data marts within Actuarial, Pricing, Product, Sales and Marketing departments
  • Build product data marts for additional products as needs arise
  • Enable deep dive segment-level analysis of the business to internal stakeholder
  • Collaborate with development teams to design business intelligence solutions
  • Coordinate with internal IT to continually enhance key data sources with new variables and functionality as needed
  • Manage and develop skills of direct report developers
  • Develop business and functional requirements
  • Design and build ETL processes using t-SQL & SSIS
  • Troubleshoot and tune existing processes
  • Create and support SSAS multidimensional cubes
  • Write queries to analyze data and provide ad-hoc and ongoing reporting
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 6+ years or Business Intelligence experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables
  • Ability to provide leadership, direction, coaching, and/or mentorship to subordinate a group
  • Potential to act as lead or first-level supervisor
  • Ability to coordinate across business functions on data projects
  • Organized and capable of working on multiple projects
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Desired Skills:

  • 5+ years of SQL development experience
  • Experience in private passenger automobile insurance pricing or product analysis.
  • Experience in SAS, Tableau, Power BI
  • Experience with reporting platforms such as SSAS and SSRS
  • Experience as a team leader
