Software Support Representative Job Summary

Software Support Representative Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for providing excellent customer service not limited to any one task.
  • The end goal is to leave every customer satisfied with the results of their call.
  • This means working with the customer on the specific issue details, researching and testing to find the right solution, working with other staff members or departments to find a creative solution, or passing the issue on to the appropriate staff member as needed (per department protocol).
  • Learn and understand the intternal software programs from basic setup to processing and reporting. Keep up with all program enhancements and fixes as they are released.
  • Responsible for providing solutions to customers who contact us for assistance on the internal software programs in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. Issues range from “how to” questions (training) to problems with system results (data and reports). This includes initial call, and all steps (and follow up) to final resolution.
  • Expedite calls and emails by completing database research and testing of software related to issues reported.
  • Provide written documentation on software usage and procedures.

Software Support Representative Requirements

  • Experience in the software industry providing telephone support to customers.
  • Experience with Chrome or other browsers such as Firefox or Safari (Mac).
  • Must have the ability to learn retain new information on a continuous basis.
  • Must work well with people; with patience and using good “listening” skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent trouble shooting/investigative/logical thinking skills and should be detail-oriented.
  • Must have strong computer and typing skills / Windows operating system.

  • MS Access (limited)
  • MS Outlook
  • Must have the ability to work varied hours but no later than 7:30 EST.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices, project management and/or media is a plus, but not required.
