Job Title:  Senior Database Administrator

Location:  Washington, D.C.

Terms:  Contract-to-Hire

 Job Summary:

Our client seeks a Senior Database Administrator to collaborate with IT staff and others across the organization in database administration of all the company’s IT services including SQL server, Raiser’s Edge archive and Salesforce. The position will play a leading role in the design, development, implementation and support of all the company’s databases. This role identifies and understands team business processes, provides end user training and support, and coordinates the implementation of database services. An important function of this position is fulfilling database related service requests and resolving incidents.

The Senior Database Administrator reports to the Chief Technology Officer and works with other IT staff in a team environment to provide the company’s personnel with the technology support and service that is required.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform applications database administration functions including:

 

  • SQL Server Databases:
    • Administer current SQL server databases including backup and verification, performance analysis and database design
  • SalesForce:
    • Serves as SalesForce administrator. Support the maintenance, management and improvements of the company’s Salesforce platform, including working to expand the use of SalesForce across teams at the Center.
    • Collaborate with business areas to gather and document new and existing requirements while providing recommendations and suggestions for solutions
    • Perform Salesforce administrative tasks such as: create new page layouts, build drop-down lists, build custom objects and related lists, account maintenance, defining fields, configure workflows, knowledge management, and create reports/dashboards. Provide recommendations for process improvements for Salesforce features and functionality.
    • Keep abreast of new Salesforce features and functionality and provide recommendations for architectural and process improvements.
  • Consultant Management:
    • Manage external consultant and partner relationships, effectively act as the liaison between users and these outside providers.
  • Security and Data Management:
    • Create, update and maintain user roles, security profiles, business rules and permission sets.
    • Perform data imports, data integrity and manipulation tasks such as merging duplicate records and establishing proper ownership of existing accounts and contacts
    • Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, application configuration and helps related materials for users as applications are developed
    • Keep abreast of new Salesforce features and functionality and provide recommendations for architectural and process improvements.
    • Assist in providing ongoing support for Office 365 Sharepoint online and integration between the two platforms
    • Other duties as specified

 

Requirements:

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or related scientific or technical discipline required (or relevant practical experience)
  • 5+ years of experience as a Salesforce administrator
  • Experience in successfully architecting, building and implementing CRM solutions from enhancement, bug fixes, to implementation of new CRM applications and significant capabilities
  • Experience in leading efforts in creating plans, schedules, and progress reports.
  • Experience conducting business analysis by analyzing strategy, performance, metrics, organizational structure, resources, core work activities, existing documentation and supporting technology related to business processes
  • Expertise in SQL Server, MS Access, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, SharePoint online and Excel including VBA
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including effective communication with users with a wide variety of technology skill levels and to function effectively both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and to work occasional weekends and evenings when special operational circumstances require and without advance notice in the case of operational emergencies.
  • Exposure to 3rd party applications and technologies that integrate and work with salesforce.com
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce.com and NPSP best practices and functionality
  • Certified Salesforce or database administrator preferred
